HHS Seniors Invade Capitol Hill!

And away we go............

Alex, Chase, Jessica, Josh, Jasmine, Any, Kevin, Manal, Peter, Andy, Michael- April 13th, 2016.

After being thwarted by huge crowds at the Dirksen Senate Office Building (where we were going to attend a hearing on "America's Insatiable Demand for Drugs") we went over to the Supreme Court.

The first of Kevin's two meals today. At the Supreme Court Cafe.

No cases today at the Supreme Court.

Library of Congress. Had we not stopped for this "album cover" picture we would have made it inside. When this picture was done we saw about 100 little kids lined up to go in there.  Didn't want to wait in that line either.

Remember Joe "You Lie!" Wilson from Obama's Health Care speech? On our way to Longworth House Office Building Cafeteria.

Lunch!

Chase "Why are these elevators so small?!?!?"  On our way to Rep. Jose Serrano's office.

The exact center of the Capitol and the exact center of Washington, DC.  Guess which shoe is mine.

Many thanks to our expert tour guide Millenah (in blue-from Rep. Jose Serrano's office) for showing us around and explaining the "George Washington Ascending to Heaven" painting in the under renovation Rotunda.

Andy in front of 9/11 Flight 93 memorial. After this we visited a Senator-less Senate Gallery.

Jasmine was especially curious about these (and many other) medical people who were lobbying about.

With James Madison who apparently cares passionately about the campaign finance issue.

Sen. Chuck Grassley talking with his constituents...shortly before being heckled on his refusal to hold a hearing for President Obama's Supreme Court nominee.

Hard to see but this is the soon to be unveiled statue of General U.S. Grant....about time!

At Botanical Gardens with Ayah and Megan.
